Do you feel like there are too many choices of things to do at camp? Maybe you really need to take some merit badges to work on advancement, but you really want to try some of the fun stuff too: like C.O.P.E., Sons of Daniel Boone or Outback Rangers.
Here's your answer: come to camp twice!! Scouts can attend a second week of camp at half-price ($112.50). Scouts will attend as a guest in one of our provisional troops and have the opportunity to get more merit badges or participate in more of the fun activities we have to offer.
Provisional Camping
We recognize that summer is an extremely busy time for families and occasionally a Scout is unable to attend camp with his home unit. Trying to schedule camp plans around summer school, sports programs and family vacations can be a major challenge. Our provisional camping program was designed with just that in mind. Through this program, Scouts who are not able to attend with their Troop (or Scouts who want to come to camp a second time) still have the opportunity to come to camp. Each week camp is in session we have a group or unit that has agreed to provide leadership for Scouts who are attending without their home unit. Financial Assistance
It is our intent that no Scout will ever have to miss out on a Summer Camp experience for financial reasons. To assist families with Summer Camp fees, a limited number of camperships are available. The amount of the campership given to each Scout will vary based of economic need, but in nearly all circumstances will not exceed 50% of the price of camp. Great Rivers Council Scouts can apply for campership assistance by submitting a Program Grant Application to the Council office. Early requests are necessary to ensure equitable distribution of available funds. The application form is available in the forms section of this site. Scouts receiving camperships are not eligible for the camper savings discount.
